Lessons My Mother Taught Me

10 lessons my mother taught meBelow are a few of many lessons my beautiful Christian single mother taught me down through the years.  No matter how old I get or how much knowledge I gain, these lessons strengthen me day after day.

Lessons My Mother Taught Me

  1. Being single isn’t a tragedy.
  2. Don’t let anyone control your happiness.
  3. Instead of feeling sorry for yourself, find a way to help others.
  4. Stop being cheap Candra.  It’s okay to splurge when you can.  You’re worth it.
  5. If you don’t know the answer, stop worrying and ask God.
  6. Don’t let anyone walk over you, use you, or abuse you.
  7. Never boast in yourself.  If you can do anything, it is because of God.
  8. Take responsibility for your actions.
  9. When you have to stand on your own, do it and be strong.  God will help you.
  10. Take a road you’ve never been on before… just to see where it goes.
  11. Have the courage to stand for what you know is right.
  12. Don’t cry over that boy who left you.  He’ll come back.  And when he does, you will have moved on.
  13. Stand up straight. 🙂
  14. When I have done wrong, she never stopped loving me.
  15. At all times…obey your mother.  (Smile)

Happy Mother’s day to all of the beautiful single mothers in the world…. God bless you!

    1. Thank you Afi! My mom and I hear that almost every day. For a long time I couldn’t see it but as I get older I see it a little more and more. 🙂

  1. Hahaha I so like this post. Everything about it. I am also a Christian lady and just like you, being single was not something I frown about. Life is just well accordingly to God’s plan I know. Never rush. And like you, I always obey my mother and want her happy 🙂

    God bless dear!
